BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - An IU student arrested last Friday for sexual assault now faces two charges of rape and one charge of criminal confinement.

Hai Yu, 19, appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday in Monroe County. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

According to the probable cause affidavit, both Yu and the victim went to a Phi Gamma Delta fraternity party.

Security cameras recorded Yu dragging a semi conscious female across a deck at the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity House.

Both received a sober ride to the north side of Foster Magee dormitory from the party.

Another security camera inside Foster Magee recorded Yu dragging the female into the dorm. The female was clothed at this time. About 55 minutes later the camera recorded Yu dragging the female back out the door. This time she was partially naked. Once again the female appeared to be unconscious.

24-Hour News 8 was able to obtain a 911 call from a student who saw the victim on the ground outside the dormitory.

“I was just getting a ride home and I noticed a girl outside. She has no pants on. She’s totally unconscious. I’m really honest to God worried about her she is non responsive,” said the student.

The female was taken to Bloomington Hospital. A sexual assault examining nurse later concluded the female student had been raped.

24-Hour News 8 cameras were there when Bloomington Police placed Hai Yu under arrest. That took place at the Indianapolis International Airport Friday afternoon.

Yu was booked on a flight to head home to New York. Instead, officers booked him into the Monroe County Jail.

He’s being held on a $250,000 bond.
