TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology announced Friday its president died after a medical incident in his office.
President Matt Branam was rushed to Union Hospital after the medical emergency in his office, and died shortly after arriving.
Branam, a native of Terre Haute, graduated from Rose-Hulman in 1979 with a degree in civil engineering. He served at the leadership post at the university for three years.
His leadership helped maintain Rose-Hulman’s status as having one of the greatest undergraduate engineering programs.
School officials planned to announce an interim leader Friday afternoon.
