HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - One person has died as a result of injuries suffered in a 40-car pileup Thursday afternoon along I-70 in Hendricks County.
Friday morning, Indiana State Police Capt. Dave Bursten identified the victim as Harry Sohal, 25, of Ontario, Canada.
The man died died shortly after 11 p.m Thursday at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Bursten said.
Indiana State Police officials said Friday morning that Sohal was in a sleeper cab of one of the semis at the time of the crash and his father, Satpal, was behind the wheel.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the chain reaction crash started. Satpal told ISP investigators that it was snowing heavily at the time of the crash.
Bursten said Friday morning that the vehicle crash still remains under investigation. Information related to the total number of vehicles involved in the multiple crashes are unknown as of Friday morning, he said.
