PENDLETON, Ind. (WTHI) - Our sister station WISH -TV reports a manhunt has been underway for a suspect who fired at police officers, injuring two, and killing a canine in Pendleton, Indiana.
That's just northeast of Indianapolis.
Officers say this incident began around 11:00 Thursday night with shots fired at the officers.
Just after 6:30 this morning, News 10 learned that the suspect is dead now, but it's not known how he died at this point.
Also, the suspect killed a civilian.
That person's identity is not known at this time.
One officer from Anderson received a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken by helicopter to Saint Vincent Hospital.
A second officer from Pendleton received a very minor cut from a flying bullet.
