Karen Pence has emergency surgery

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHI) - Gov. Mike Pence's schedule has been canceled for Thursday because his wife has emergency surgery, officials at the governor's office confirm.

Karen Pence needs emergency gallbladder surgery, officials said.

Gov. Pence was scheduled to visit Jeffersonville and Evansville Thursday, including tours of a bridge project and the University of Southern Indiana. Pence was also scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce dinner Thursday night.
