I-70 spring construction guide

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Warmer weather means more road construction on Interstate 70.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials tell News 10 there are several projects on the docket that drivers need to be aware of. 

  • The first project is a $6.3 million project that is expected to wrap up by April. This project involves resurfacing I-70 just east of State Road 59 to just west of State Road 243.
  • The second project comes with nearly a $10.5 million price tag, and also wraps up in April. This one will resurface from US 231 to Little Point Road.
  • Third up, a $7.7 million resurfacing project will smooth out I-70 just west of State Road 39 to State Road 267. This project is also scheduled for an April completion date.
  • The fourth project, resurface work on I-70 at exit 51 to State Road 39 could start as early as next week. This $7 million project is set to wrap up by the end of July.
  • The fifth on the list is a resurfacing project on I-70 from US 40 to State Road 59. The $9 million project is set to begin in April and should be done by the end of June.
  • Sixth, work is expected to start on I-70 just west of State Road 243 to US 231. The two month project will cost just over $7 million.
  • Seventh and last on the list, a patch a resurface project on 70 just west of US 41 to State Road 46 is set to begin in May.
