INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - - A federal class action lawsuit is targeting BP after a bad batch of gas was sold throughout Indiana.
BP originally thought the bad gas was contained to northwest Indiana and the Chicago area, but on Wednesday it was revealed that the gas made it into the Indianapolis area market. BP officials said the bad gas didn’t include regular unleaded, their most popular seller.
The lawsuit filed by Cohen & Malad seeks more than $5 million in damages.
People who got the bad gasoline may have noticed their car experiencing hard starting, rough idling, stalling, or other drivability issues, according to BP.
To make a claim with BP, call 1-800-333-3991 or 1-800-599-9040. For more information from attorneys who filed the class action suit, call 1-866-446-7478. To search for gas stations that may have received the bad gas, click here .
