TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A retired defense attorney from southern Illinois is jailed in Indiana after being arrested on suspicion of trying to smuggle heroin-filled condoms into a federal prison.
On Monday, a state judge in Terre Haute found probable cause of the weekend arrest of Robert Drew, 68, of Marion, Illinois on suspicion of dealing and possession.
He is jailed on $100,000 cash only bond.
Authorities arrested Drew on Saturday at the Terre Haute prison after a search found nearly two ounces of heroin in two condoms taped to his body.
Investigators say Drew told them he received a package of drugs
and an anonymous, threatening phone call telling him where to
deliver it.
