INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTHI) - Over $34 million will be given to Indiana communities affected by the 2008 floods.
The grants total $34,423,314 distributed to 38 different communities.
The money will be used for water infrastructure projects.
Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman made the announcement after a competitive application process. The applications were scored on project’s impact on overall economic recovery efforts, community distress needs, and percentage of low-to-moderate income households served.
The grants are funded by the Federal Community Block Grant Program (CDBG). Indiana’s CDBG Disaster Recovery program is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
Bainbridge, Bicknell, Center Point, Crane, and Shoals are a few of the communities receiving aid.
