MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (AP) - Police say a young boy was killed and two others hurt when an all-terrain vehicle crashed in southwestern Indiana.
The Posey County Sheriff's Department says the crash happened when the driver lost control after hitting a dog that had run onto a county road south of Mount Vernon.
The ATV landed on 9-year-old Sullivan Coburn of Mount Vernon, who was pronounced dead at an Evansville hospital after the Wednesday night crash.
The driver and a 12-year-old girl also were taken to hospitals for treatment of injuries.
