Indiana ranks low on healthy state list

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Indiana ranks low on the nation's healthy list.

A recent study finds that Indiana ranks 35th out of the 50 states. The study was put on by the United Health Foundation.

It's based on 22 indicators of health. They included smoking, obesity, cancer deaths among others.

Illinois ranks 29th.

"We need to control our food habits. We need to change our lifestyle and change our food habits. We need to increase our physical activity." Dr. Shashikumar, pulmonologist at Union Hospital said.
