Springfield, IL - Thomas Carter always felt like he would win the lottery someday. His hunch became reality during the September 29th Lucky Day Lotto drawing when he matched all five of the winning numbers – 04 - 09 - 18 - 25 – 27. “I had to triple check my ticket! Even though I always knew I’d win the Lottery one of these days, I still couldn’t believe it,” Carter said.

A retired pipe-fitter, Carter now works part-time at the local Rural King store and will keep working as usual until the beginning of the year – then he’d like to cut his hours back a little. “My boss was happy when I said I wasn’t quitting my job. I’d never quit, but this win will help me squeeze in a little extra time for myself,” Carter said.

This lucky lottery player plans to use his recent windfall to pay off his house and use it for other practical things. “I want to invest and then put the rest in the bank to give me some cushion,” he said. “You never know when you might need it.”

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Marathon Mart, 301 West Main Street. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus, 1 percent of the jackpot amount, for selling a winning ticket.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are 7 days a week with over 35,000 winners every day! That’s over 200,000 winners in Illinois every week!
