SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Gov. Pat Quinn says the state could get additional federal help with security once terrorism suspects move to a prison in northwestern Illinois.
But the Chicago Democrat also said Wednesday that Illinois won't be intimidated by terrorists. He says the people of Illinois aren't afraid.
Critics say moving terrorism suspects from Guantanamo Bay to the unused state prison in Thomson raises security concerns.
Some also argue Illinois should get top dollar from the federal government. One state Senate leader says Illinois should get back all the money it put into the prison, plus enough money to build another.
Quinn repeatedly said Illinois will get fair market value. He also said it's possible the state will get more security money.
