ROBINSON, Ill, WTHI - Video taken from inside a Robinson, Illinois High School locker room by a custodian was turned back into local police custody, after being investigated.
Students from Robinson High School were violated when 27-year-old Daniel Bonnell placed a video camera inside a locker in the boy’s locker room.
Police arrested Bonnell for un-authorized videotaping and sent the video to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab Unit to be reviewed.
Officer Bryan Danks, with the Robinson Police Department says, "We were pleasantly surprised there was no nudity in it and that was important to the parents. I think that lessoned the blow to all of them."
More than twenty students from Robinson High School and Red Hill High School were identified in the tape.
School officials emailed all families affected by the video.
Casey Smith, a Robinson High School graduate says even though there was no nudity the idea of it is sickening.
"I would be angry and upset especially since that’s something very personable and especially since, like you said, school is suppose to be a safe spot,” said Smith.
As for Bonnell he waived his preliminary court date Wednesday and has since resigned from Robinson High School.
