Payton murder trial delayed

PARIS, Ill. (WTHI) - The murder trial of an Edgar County teen has been postponed after a pre-trial conference Wednesday.

Terry Payton, 16, or Paris is charged with stabbing his mother, Kathie Payton to death in June 2011.

Payton’s jury trail had been scheduled to begin in mid-March, but that trial date has been vacated.

Payton is due back in court for a status hearing on March 14.
