Illinois (WTHI) - Nationally, one in every 681 homes received a foreclosure notice in August. Locally, those numbers are much worse.
Illinois has the worst rate in the country, with one in every 298 homes receiving a notice.
Just over 8,500 homes statewide received a foreclosure notice in August.
These numbers are up 18% from last year and 37% from July.
In all, scheduled foreclosure auctions rose 116% and bank repossessions increased 41% from last year.
