SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Gov. Pat Quinn plans to veto something, but he won't say what.
The governor is scheduled to veto legislation Wednesday afternoon, a day after he threatened to veto a version of the state budget that he opposes.
But Quinn's office won't answer questions about whether the veto is aimed at the whole budget, part of the budget or something completely different.
Critics in the Legislature say Quinn is so inconsistent that they're not convinced he'll follow through on his veto threat.
Wednesday is the first day of the state's new fiscal year, but there's no budget in place. That's because officials can't agree on how to fill a deficit of roughly $11.6 billion.
