SHELDON, Ill. (AP) - A 27-year-old man is being held on $1 million bond after being accused of stabbing two Sheldon men to death.

Iroquois County sheriff's police say Brian Garrett of Watseka is being held in the deaths of 61-year-old Ralph Elsey and 48-year-old Robert Wood. The men were stabbed multiple times Saturday in Elsey's home in Sheldon, which is about 75 miles south of Chicago.

Police say Garrett fled to Indiana, where he was surrounded by police in a wooded area near Mentone, Ind. Authorities say the incident ended peacefully when Garrett gave himself up.
