Ill. Sheriffs' Association to offer scholarship

CRAWFORD CO., Ill. (WTHI) - Are you or your high school student wanting to keep their education going into college?  For those that qualify, the Illinois Sheriffs' Association would like to help.

The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association announced it will be awarding over $53,000 in college scholarships throughout the state.  This money will go to students pursuing high education for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Crawford County Sheriff’s Todd W. Liston will be awarding one  $500 scholarship to a student that meets these basic prerequisites:

  • Must be permanent Illinois residents,
  • Scholarships must be utilized as institutions of higher learning within the state of Illinois and
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2013-2014 school year (excluding summer session)

If you or your student would like to apply for the scholarship, you are asked to pick up an application at your local Sheriff’s Office or visit their website here.
