A judge in southern Illinois has issued an order temporarily prohibiting Governor Pat Quinn from closing correctional facilities.
In a statement today, a judge in Alexander County, Illinois granted a state employees union a request for a temporary restraining order.
The order keeps Governor Quinn from closing two prisons, three halfway houses and youth detention centers across the state.
Quinn says the facilities need to close to save the state money.
He wanted most of the centers closed Friday.
