ILLINOIS, (WTHI) - Officials in Decatur and Springfield, Illinois said they are thinking about bidding for a role in the FutureGen project.
U.S. Senator Dick Durbin's office said a number of towns have expressed interest after officials in Mattoon declined to be a part of the revised plans.
Decatur's Mayor Mike McElroy said the town is looking into how many jobs the project could bring.
Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin said the capital city will also look into the details of this project.
