ILLINOIS (WTHI) - The state of Illinois commits to a new plan to return unclaimed property to its residents.
The program formerly known as Cash Dash is now I-Cash.
Illinois contracted a new firm to market the program.
The state is paying Henson Consulting potentially $2 million over a period of three years for re-branding and marketing.
Last year, Cash Dash returned more than $100 million in unclaimed property to rightful owners.
The Illinois Treasurer's Office said the money for the consulting firm comes from unclaimed property funds, and is a great chance to do more with the program.
