Illinois customers may see bills rise

Illinois (WTHI) - If you are an Ameren Illinois customer, you may see your monthly gas bills go up in the near future.

On Friday, the company filed an official request for a 50 million dollar rate increase.

The company expects the money will help cover the costs of delivering natural gas and replacing equipment.

If the request is approved, customers can expect as much as a two to four dollar increase in their monthly bill.

The company pledges to help consumers better understand energy efficiency and keep bills as low as possible.
