CHICAGO (AP) — Light snow is continuing to fall in parts of central and northern Illinois as the remnants of a winter storm creep eastward.
According to the air traffic tracking website FlightAware.com, about 100 flights in and out of Chicago's airports have been canceled for Wednesday.
Flights into O'Hare International Airport are being delayed an average of about an hour.
Main roadways are mostly clear of snow and slush for Wednesday morning's commute in the Chicago area after plows spent the night on patrol.
There are some delayed school openings in the city's suburbs.
The National Weather Service says the Chicago area could get another 1 to 3 inches of snow throughout the day Wednesday.
In central Illinois, forecasters expect accumulations of around an inch through the evening.
