Savio's sister calls Peterson a liar in court

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) — The sister of Drew Peterson's third wife responded to his outburst in court.

Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison on Thursday for killing Kathleen Savio. He gave a statement in court, starting by shouting into a microphone and saying "I did not kill Kathleen!"

In response, Savio's sister Susan Doman shouted back saying "Yes, you did. You liar!" Judge Edward Burmila fought to restore order and told Savio's sister to leave the courtroom.

Earlier before Peterson was sentenced, Doman told the judge that she "can hardly stand the pain at times."
