WOOD RIVER, Ill. (AP) — Authorities suspect a heroin overdose in the death of a man whose body was found in a car in the southwestern Illinois city of Wood River.
The Telegraph (http://bit.ly/1063MH0) in Alton reports that police in Wood River say the man's body was found Tuesday in the car parked in a bay of a car wash. His identity was not immediately released.
Deputy Police Chief Mickey Sabolo says the investigation points to a heroin overdose as the cause of the man's death. Authorities say drug paraphernalia was found next to the victim.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday, but results weren't released. Authorities are awaiting results of toxicology tests.
