Man sentenced to prison on child-porn charges

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — A southwestern Illinois man has been ordered to spend 12 years and seven months in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

Thirty-eight-year-old Sidney Davis of Shiloh also was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis to 15 years of post-prison supervised release and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Federal prosecutors say that in January of last year, undercover state investigators downloaded child pornography form Davis' computer using a file-sharing network site.

Agents who later searched his apartment found numerous child-pornography videos and images that were downloaded from the Internet.
