Libraries, churches close in Illinois for storm

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. (AP) — Libraries, food pantries and churches have closed across northern Illinois as a winter storm moves across the region. The storm is forecast to bring 10 inches of snow in some areas.

Government meetings were canceled Tuesday. Grayslake Deputy Village Clerk Jennifer Wells says the village board meeting scheduled for Tuesday night is canceled. Lake Villa Mayor Frank Loffredo says a forum on Lake Michigan water has been rescheduled for next week. In Maple Park the village's trustees meeting has been postponed.

Libraries in Bourbonnais, DeKalb and Genoa are closed. The DeKalb Salvation Army Food Pantry is closed Tuesday.

St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence canceled a parent meeting and First United Methodist Church of DeKalb closed its offices.
