PARIS, Ill. (WTHI) - The largest residential solar array for Indiana and Illinois has been installed.
An array of solar panels in Paris, Illinois is using energy from the sun and converting it into electricity. The array is powering a home, barn and farm. The array has enough solar panels to take extra energy generated during the day, to power the owner’s house at night.
"Right now we are 115% over his usage. So as he grows and adds more power, adds more cattle adds more buildings to his property he is going to be put in a position where he already has that power harvesting," One Planet Solar Installer Phillip Roberts said.
Solar panels can cost the average homeowner between $20,000 to $30,000 and the return on investment can be seen within 10 years.
