John Mayer to play this year's Illinois State Fair

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Grammy-winning musician John Mayer will perform at this year's Illinois State Fair.
State Fair officials made the announcement Friday. They say Mayer will perform Aug. 11 on the Grandstand stage as the headliner. The opening act will be "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips.
Mayer is known for songs like "Your Body Is a Wonderland" and "Waiting on the World to Change." Other musical acts scheduled for this year's state fair include Styx, REO Speedwagon, Toby Keith, Journey and The Band Perry.
The Illinois State Fair runs from Aug. 8 to Aug. 18 in Springfield.
