Illinois to offer conservation police test

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources in April will offer eligibility testing for conservation police officer trainees.

The agency is not hiring police officer trainees. But testing will be offered to develop a list of eligible candidates for hiring when necessary.

Testing will be April 1-4 through the Department of Central Management Services Examining and Counseling Division.

Those interested should submit a CMS application online. They should also review hiring information on the IDNR website under "law enforcement."

Applicants must have an associate's degree and three years of law enforcement experience with the same agency or three years' experience as an active-duty military police officer.

Testing includes a written examination, swim test, oral interview, psychological evaluation, medical screening and background investigation.
