Crundwell's Florida property put on the market

DIXON, Ill. (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service has begun efforts to sell the last property owned by former Dixon comptroller Rita Crundwell, who is in prison for stealing from the northern Illinois city.

The 2,300-square-foot home in Englewood, Fla. was placed on the market Monday for an asking price of $254,900.

The (Dixon) Telegraph reports the real estate agency handling the sale lists the home as "just minutes from the beach," with a luxurious master bath, a separate hot tub and a guest suite.

Jason Wojdylo (woh-DIHL'-oh) says the Marshals Service has received six unacceptable offers for the property.

Crundwell's four Lee County properties sold for a total of $3,415,376 through an unsolicited bid process.

Crundwell was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for stealing more than $53 million from Dixon.
