3 members of Palatine family killed in car crash

SYCAMORE, Ill. (AP) — Three people representing three generations of a Palatine family have died in a northern Illinois car crash.
Authorities say 57-year-old Angelina Felix, her daughter 19-year-old Jenny Perez and Perez's 2-year-old son Roberto Perez died in the Thursday accident. The crash happened near Sycamore in DeKalb County. Police say Jenny Perez was driving when her vehicle went into the oncoming lane of traffic. A truck traveling the opposite direction struck Perez's vehicle.
Police say all three victims were wearing seat belts. The truck driver wasn't injured.
Family members say Jenny Perez worked at a grocery store in the Chicago suburb of Palatine and hoped to become a nurse. Officials are investigating the crash.
Sheriff Roger Scott called it "a tragic accident."
