CASEYVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Two women are accused of pummeling a 78-year-old disabled woman police say the defendants were trying to forcibly remove from a southwestern Illinois nursing home.

Prosecutors in St. Clair County have charged Nina Dorsey and Julia Tillis with aggravated battery in connection with the Friday altercation at the Caseyville Nursing Home.

Police say officers responding to a report of a woman being removed from a nursing home against her will found the two defendants driving from the nursing home with the resident.

The allegedly abducted woman was treated at a hospital.

Dorsey and Tillis remained jailed Sunday in Belleville on $50,000 bond apiece.

They don't have listed home telephone numbers, and online court records don't show whether they have attorneys.
