MATTOON, Ill. (WTHI) - While working on a restoration project, workers discovered an old mural at an Illinois train depot.
The mural was found in what used to be a cafe at the Illinois Central Railroad Depot in Mattoon.
The depot was built in 1918 and the mural might have been painted during World War II. The cafe was used by the USO while soldier were waiting for their trains.
The painting is of a sailboat and landscape.
