TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Gold prices are the highest they have been in some time, but not all local jewelers say it's a good thing.
The price for gold Thursday was listed at $1,213.50 and that's an all-time high. Ben Stein from Rogers Jewelers in Terre Haute said the high gold prices are causing some issues for business.
He said costumers are not as willing to spend money for high prices, comparing it to customers reaction to high gas prices.
"So it does create a situation where sometimes you have to go from 10 karats to 14 karats," Stein said.
Experts don't expect any major dips in gold prices anytime soon.
