Former city official charged with child pornography

CRAWFORD, Ill. (WTHI) - Tony L. Hamilton, 41, of Robinson was arrested Friday after a warrant was issued charging him with possession of child pornography which is a Class 3 felony.

Hamilton, a former highway commissioner, was taken to the Crawford County Sheriff's Deparmtment where he posted a $5,000 bond.

This is not Hamilton's first run-in with the law.   Back in 2005, he resigned as highway commissioner after pleading guilty to unrelated charges of theft and misconduct.

Hamilton will return to court on the pornography charge on February 22nd.
