TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - The Vigo County School Corporation made a large donation to a children's foundation.
Representatives from The Riley Hospital for Children Foundation were at Terre Haute North Vigo High School to accept a check for more $ 27,000 on Wednesday.
Schools have raised money for the Foundation throughout this school year. Administrators feel it is important for students to know the importance of giving, especially to a place that helps so many children from this area.
"If you polled people in Terre Haute, almost everyone in Terre Haute knows someone that has went through Riley Hospital, and over 5,000 last year were serviced from Vigo County,” said Patrick Sheehan, a member of the Vigo Co. School Board.
The School Corporation has been named a Miracle Corporation through the Kids Caring and Sharing initiative. It’s a partnership both sides hope to continue for years to come.
