TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Indiana State University is preparing for their students to return in just about a month.
Renovations to the former federal building at 7th and Cherry Streets in Terre Haute are wrapping up.
It'll be the new location of the school's business department.
The university kept much of the buildings historic charm, but spent the greater part of renovation time on reinventing the space.
"This building has great bones,” Indiana State University’s Tara Singer said. “It has great finishes as well. We've just gone in and upgraded some of the technology, as well as the energy efficiency."
The school also plans to open a new welcome center before the beginning of the fall semester.
Work on pedestrian walking space between 7th and 8th Street is also expected to be complete.
