TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Wabash Valley school principal recognized statewide.
Mary Beth Harris serves as Principal at Fuqua Elementary School in Terre Haute.
She's been named State Elementary Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals.
The group honors one principal from each of the state's 12 education districts.
Recipients of the award are nominated then one of them is chosen as the winner.
"When we look at education today, it's not one of those glorious careers that people go into. But it's just very rewarding and so I think when somebody recognizes the job that you do, you appreciate that," Principal Mary Beth Harris said.
The Indiana Association of School Principals will recognize Harris on Sunday, November 20 at Fuqua Elementary.
