VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - A local elementary school is receiving a fresh coat of paint, and not to the walls inside the building.
Volunteers have started the painting the outline of the United States as part of the Peaceful Playground Program at Francis Vigo Elementary in Vincennes, Ind.
The program is an evidence based program that has been proved to reduce bullying, combat obesity and help develop motor and social skills.
Several volunteers consisting of school staff and parents began painting the US map on Sunday, September 16. They plan to finish this painting project after school on Friday, September 28.
