TERRE HAUTE, Ind., (WTHI) - Some Vigo County schools will soon have a new and unique entryway.

The school corporation announced today of a plan to have new canopies put into place at 13 schools in the county.

Each canopy will enhance the uniqueness of the school where it's placed.

The designs will be created by a Paris, France based agency, that was founded by a 2004 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School.

He's excited about giving back to the schools he attended.

"I think that it is important.. as Danny said.. to kind of go full circle, come back.. really not forget where it all began, especially for me personally since I'm still early in my professional career," said Matthew Won Piker.

Phase 1 will include Deming and Riley elementary schools and West Vigo and Woodrow Wilson Middle schools.

Town hall meetings will take place where you can learn more about the project and the schools involved.
