Indiana's three public Universities are pushing lawmakers this week for more cash.

Indiana State University, Purdue and IU leaders say they need more state funding.

Leaders told lawmakers Wednesday they've cut costs to keep tuition low. The meeting is part of the State Budget Committee hearings on higher education.

School administrators fear without state help costs could go up.

Ivy Tech Community College and Vincennes University also have staffers on hand for the meetings.

The meetings are preps for the General Assembly's budget-writing session in 2013.
