TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Children in the community are once again preparing to head back to school, and The Salvation Army wants to make sure each one of them has they resources they need to “measure up.”
“All children want to feel like they ‘measure up’ in the eyes of their parents, teachers and classmates,” said Envoy Gordon Hoag, Administrator for the Terre Haute Salvation Army. “We rely on contributions from the community to help ensure we can give them the resources they need to develop their talents, do their best work in school and build bright futures.”
During the coming weeks, The Salvation Army will be collecting and distributing school supplies to more than 900 children in the community whose families struggle with the additional expense this time of year.
Items particularly in need are backpacks, 48 count boxes of crayons, handwriting tablets and markers.
