TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Dads behind bars helped raise money for Toys for Tots.
The Wabash Valley Correctional facility Inside Out Dads program raised $550 for Toys for Tots.
Inside Out Dads helps offenders keep in contact with their children, even while they are behind bars. Employees of the correctional facility went shopping at Wal-Mart Tuesday to buy toys for some kids in need this holiday season.
"Kids who are less fortunate will be able to get toys this Christmas, and in economic times, it's something we feel that was needed," Michelle Lincoln said.
"I get the opportunity to serve my country and to touch the community around where I live," Cpl. Benjamin Mitchell said.
Toys for Tots distribution in Vigo County will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
