WEST UNION, Ill. (WTHI) - An Illinois woman pleaded guilty Thursday in the drunken driving deaths of two people in 2010.
Dottie Bright, 39, had initially been charged with Reckless Homicide and three counts of Aggravated DUI. On Thursday, Bright pleaded guilty to the counts of Aggravated DUI. Under a plea agreement, the Reckless Homicide charge was dropped, according to online court records.
Bright was sentenced to 15 years with the Department of Corrections and given credit for time already served.
Authorities say Bright crashed a truck into an ambulance outside West Union, Ill. in 2010. That crash killed EMT Richard Poorman and truck passenger Stephen Daugherty.
