Woman arrested for trafficking to an inmate

CARLISLE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Peru, Ind. woman is facing multiple trafficking charges after being caught in the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.

According to a release from the WVCF, Sheyenne Johnson, 26, visited inmate Roger Jaske on Sunday afternoon.  During their brief meeting, WVCF staff noticed Johnson place an object into a sandwich and passed it to inmate Jaske.

Soon after, staff quickly confiscated two cell phone watch inserts and one cell phone SIM card and detained Johnson.  After an investigation, staff arrested Johnson on charges of Trafficking Cell Phones into the facility.

According to the release, inmate Jaske, 60, is serving a life sentence on a Saint Joseph County murder conviction, along with two Madison County convictions for Voluntary Manslaughter and Escape.

Jaske has been placed in segregation pending the outcome of the investigation.
