TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One person is hospitalized after a Sunday evening shooting in Terre Haute.
It happened just after 8:00 Sunday night at a home in the 2,000 block of North 13th Street near Maple Avenue.
Police say it all started during a get together when some people got into an argument.
The argument escalated into a fight which moved from the inside to the outside.
Police say the suspect, Clarence Sandifer, 36, (shown above) pinned the victim, Rodney Johnson, to the ground, pulled out a gun and shot him in the lower chest twice.
Sandifer was tackled by others.
That's when he dropped the gun and took off.
Rodney Johnson is now in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and was last reported in stable condition.
Sandifer has not been found.
If you know the whereabouts of Sandifer, or have information regarding the case, call Crime Stoppers at 238-STOP.
