CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTHI) - Two women were arrested after an investigation into forgery and counterfeiting.
The Clark County Sheriff’s office, along with the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force, investigated a case involving forgery and counterfeiting on September 2-3.
33-year-old Mandy Tingley and 39-year-old Michelle Welcher were arrested after officers seized altered, forged and manufactured currency. They were preliminarily charged with forgery.
Officers believe suspected counterfeit currency has been passed in Vigo County, Indiana and Clark County, Illinois.
The investigation is ongoing.
Officers say additional arrests and charges are pending.
