CLARK CO., Ill. (WTHI) - Two suspects in the process of burglarizing a home in Clark County, Illinois, were arrested after a short chase.
Saturday night, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a suspicious vehicle located outside of an uninhabited home in Casey, IL.
Clark Co. Sheriff’s Office arrived and parked away from the residence to avoid detection.
Upon investigation, Deputies discovered two suspects committing a burglary near the back of the residence.
The suspects fled the scene in their own vehicle, to which the Deputies and Casey Police Department pursued for a short distance.
The suspects, both from Urbana, IL, were taken into custody and several antique items were located inside the vehicle.
No names have been released at this time.
With the assistance of the Charleston Illinois Police Dept. the home owner was located and was able to identify the antique items as missing from the residence.
Both suspects were charged with burglary and other charges.
